“Whatever you end up doing, love it.”

🎬That’s a line from the scene in Cinema Paradiso where Alfredo, the movie projectionist mentor, bids farewell to his beloved young apprentice, Toto as he goes off to the military. Watching this, one of my favorite movies, (with an achingly beautiful soundtrack by Giuseppe Tornatore)on the big screen in Bryant Park reminded me of the simple messaging that pierced my heart to the core the first time I heard it. It reminded me of the importance of holding on to your dreams. Discovering your true calling in life takes a lifetime to figure out, and there is often pain in the process.

🍿The cool thing was sharing the film that I love and that changed my life when I saw it 30 years ago in community with hundreds of New Yorkers, many of whom discovered it for the first time.

🍿 watching the emotional response of my two dear friends was priceless.
