Working with a difficult supervisor is rarely a great experience. To my surprise, it was a very valuable lesson I learned…with Jane’s advice. We worked on a tactical, practical plan to deal with a difficult personality, based on common sense principles of human relations — self-evident in hindsight but unclear when experienced in the corporate world. He and I reached a mutual understanding and the work environment improved. Only much later did I fully appreciate Jane’s lesson as best practices on good management and leadership.
